According to Mark 10:42-45 and the motivation of serving God (Case Study Students
of STT SAPPI). Guided by: RATNA KATHARINA and ROBI PRIANTO.
One of the factors in determining the quality and the goal of serving God is to have a
strong motivation in why someone does it. Motivation is the reason why somebody
does something or behaves in a particular way. It is why very important before
someone decides to serve the God, he/she needs to know what the motivation of
serving God. Motivation will influence the way God’s servant to act wright or to act
wrongly. All kinds of serving God is merely to achieve God’s goals. There are many
examples, either in the Bible or in our world’s now, how God’s servants n carrying
out their responsibility is not in accordance God’s goal because they have wrong
motivation. God is the master of God’s servant. In serving God must be characterized
by devotion and honesty.
The aims of the study are (a) to measure understanding of serving God according
Mark 10:42-45, (b) to analyse the motivation STT SAPPI Students in serving God,
and (c) to measure correlation between understanding of serving God According to
Mark 10:42-45 and the motivation of serving God. The research method used
descriptive quantitative. Data analysis using hypothesis tests regression through SPSS
20. The respondents are 80 students of STT SAPPI from level 2 up to level 4 with.
The results show:(a) the category of understanding students in serving God according
to Mark 10:42-45 is low, and (b) the category of the motivation SPPI’s students in
serving God is low. The study also shows there is a positive and strong correlation
between understanding of serving God According to Mark 10:42-45 and the
motivation of serving God (r=0,778). The coefficient of determination is 0, 605
meaning the model can explain the variation in Y (the motivation of serving God) as
much as 60.5%. The remaining 39,5%, is explained by other variables out of the
variables understanding of serving God according to Mark 10:42-45.
